Importance of Knowing The Gospel

Home > Pastor's Blog > Importance of Knowing The Gospel

Having set forth the bases of the Gospel namely, The Power of the Gospel, The Purpose of the Gospel, and The effects and Results of the Gospel. When the Gospel was preached by the apostles, over two thousand years ago, it went forth with power and declared under the anointing of the Holy Spirit and so down through the centuries. The word says the letter killeth but the Spirit giveth life. Jesus said, my words they are spirit and they are life.

Paul said, (Hebrews 4:12), for the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit; and of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the of the thoughts and intents of the heart. It doesn’t matter if you believe it or not, it don’t change the word and the word don’t change to suit or conform to man’s ideas or theology. The Gospel does not conform, the power of the gospel transforms mens lives, brings them out of darkness into His marvelous light. (Peter 2:9)

One who walks in the light of this gospel cannot walk in darkness. Jesus said, ye are children of the day and not of the night, then if we are children of the day we should see where we are going.

The Holy Spirit cannot, will not, never has, led anyone astray. Jesus said, when he, the Holy Ghost is come, he will guide you into all truth. Reader, few may say, how do we know who’s right and who’s wrong ? The word of God standeth sure, having this seal the Lord knows them that are His.

Paul said, even 2000 years ago, that some have already erred from the faith or turned aside from the truth of the gospel. Paul said, in writing to Timothy Chapter 4:1, the spirit speaketh expressly that in the letter times some shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. – on to verse 2-

The Spirit of God expressed it that the times would be so when man would not except the truth of the Gospel in so doing they would be seduced by the devil himself. Back to a recent statement, who’s wrong, who’s right. The epistle of 1 John Chapter 4:1-3 Beloved believe not every spirit but try the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh if of God. One that don’t believe that Jesus came in the flesh, is not of God and this is that spirit of anti-christ.

When Jesus asked the disciples who he was, one answered, some say Elias, some say Moses while others say one of the prophets, then He brought the question home, “but who do you say that I am ?” Peter answered, and said, thou art Christ the son of the living God, Jesus answered and said, “flesh and blood hath not revealed this unto you but my Father which is in Heaven. Further more He said, Thou art Peter and upon this Rock I will build my Church. Upon Himself, He is the Rock, our hope of eternal salvation. It is He (Jesus) that this Gospel is all about.

Listen friend, this is not about a Church as such a denomination, this is about a living Christ, one who came to earth to die for fallen humanity The Bible says, For God so loved the world…..(John 3:16)

The Gospel will bring peace, restoration to any one person, nation or the world if accepted. Take God of His Word, don’t try to analyze God. Read Job Chapter 38-39. I’m sure you will see the Creator, in all his splendor.

Let God be true and every man a liar.
