Time to Consider – Time to Reason

Home > Pastor's Blog > Time to Consider – Time to Reason

At this time I would like to take you to Isaiah Chapter 1 verse 18 in particular. “Come now, and let us reason together saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

If you note in the first 15 verses of the first chapter, the prophet is making it very clear, the spiritual condition of Jerusalem and Judah because God allowed him to see it. Verse 1, the Bible says he had a vision and what he saw wasn’t very good in the spiritual eyesight of the prophet, he did not talk about the sinful condition the gentile nation was in, or in other words, the world. He talked about the sinful condition that Gods people were in.

You may say, “what Gods people in a sinful condition?” well that’s what the Bible says. I’m just going to refer to 2nd Timothy 3:16, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 1st Corinthians 10:11, a similar verse of scripture, the word was written for our benefit, we can’t afford to read it and say, “oh! That was only for them.” No certainly not, it surely fits into our world, our day, our circumstances, our way of life.

So far, as to what I have written, I have not consulted with anybody else’s material, or used any quotes from another source. Although, I am quite aware I haven’t been long, but on any given subject I could have continued on. I just injected that to let you know I don’t and won’t refer to any other books other then the Word of God.

Now I’ll get back to where and what I was going to say. Don’t ever forget that God is doing the same thing today. In the last 2000 years, God have showed forth His glory, have manifested His presence, have brought people from darkness into light and yet people have transgressed, sinned and done a lot of things against the Holy one of Israel. I’m talking about, The Lord Jesus Christ. Now, I’m talking about now, not what happened 3 thousand years ago in Isaiah’s time. The Bible says, again in 2nd Timothy 3:16 and 1 Corinthians 10:11, I will not repeat it, just read it again, get the message.

God has called out people to be a separate people, a peculiar people, a royal priesthood and yet they have turned aside and will not take, receive advise or listen, as Jeremiah said: Jeremiah 3:6, “and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot” On everything that you think is shaded, nobody can see it. Come on, there is nothing hid but will be brought to light, you can’t hide.

Today there is so much and it is so deceiving that without the spirit of God, it foes noticed but be sure your sins will find you out. I refer to one thing in particular, the new age philosophy is in so far, and it’s amazing how far and widespread. It’s not according to the word of God and should never be used to try and win people, it’s only what the devil is using to gain some that he lost.

I’m going to end this part here by quoting Isaiah 1:3 “The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.” When an ox recognizes it’s owner, or the one who owns him, should not God’s people recognize their Creator ? You might say, “what are you saying?” Tune in to the next one in a couple of days, you’ll know.
