You know there is one thing I don’t like and that is debating whether someone or some thing is right or wrong. I talked to a man some time ago and he made a statement about something he didn’t believe and I had to tell him when you make a statement that you don’t or you do believe something then you must be able to give some solid reason why you don’t or you do.

Now when it comes to spiritual things then we have only the Bible to base some concrete evidence to bear out. We are living in a very deceptive age. When some may, well that’s your choice to believe or not to believe. That in itself does not make it right or wrong. The Bible says we aught to obey God rather then men. Some people go to their clergy with all due respect but what id the clergy is wrong?

When things don’t line up with the word for any preacher to stand behind a pulpit and say there’s nothing wrong with the celebration of the 31st of October and teach children, so God help him I say. You may believe it or you don’t but I never heard anyone get behind a pulpit and make such a statement but for some reason I stopped writing on this issues only to learn that there was one in our area that did so.

Now I’m not going in detail about the history of Halloween simply because of the fact it’s all on the internet for anyone to see and I will declare it’s not of God! It’s of the flesh and the Devil! The Roman Catholic church celebrated mass for the dead saints on the 31st of October and we sometimes got a job to pray for the living saints and get results let alone praying for the dead.

Paul warned in 1st Thessalonians 5:22 to abstain from all appearance of evil and I’m sure that witches and such like it’s not an appearance of good.

Now the works of the flesh are recorded in Galatians Chapter 5 verse 19 to 21. When people celebrate praying for the dead which is doctrine of devils. Someone hath said, I read this in a suppose to be a spiritual magazine that we could redeem Halloween and try to make some good of it. What a lie!

You can’t redeem evil that’s about the same has trying to get the devil saved, besides, if there’s nothing wrong with it why would so called thing you would redeem if it’s good ? Why redeem it, I could go on but it makes me sick even to think that so called can try to justify something that’s not right.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good and good evil that put darkness for light and light for darkness that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

There is one more thing I would like to say. In that same magazine that I referred to there was an article where some students were studying for future ministries. The teacher was wondering what he should give them for a summer assignment only to refer them to the movies, Narnia and the Lord of the Rings. Which was produced for no other purpose but to under-mind and captivate the minds of people by the unseen powers of the devil.

Paul said after he had been converted, he conferred not with flesh and blood! The commandment that he received came not by man neither by the will of man but by the Holy Ghost!

Hollywood’s productions should not have any place in the church or the believers. I believe it’s time to speak out! Jeremiah did it, other people did it. Christians out there speak out! Don’t be afraid of the face of clay!

There will be more to follow. Listen folks, if the devil deceived one third of the Angels and won them over don’t ever think you are any match for him. He’s out to deceive to under-mind whenever, wherever, however he can!

Not a good place for thieves to be but they were there. Matthew, Mark and Luke recorded that Jesus said they the religious leaders of that day had made the temple a den of thieves. Pretty well hide away, nobody would recognize them as thieves. A good place to hide away figured nobody would find them.

You might say well that was in Jesus ay and so it was but don’t deceive yourself, that there’s more today, there is in more ways then one

Jesus said all that ever came before me are thieves and robbers but when Jesus changes a persons life they are no longer considered or should be called thieves and robbers. I’m going to deal with this subject in a little different way then you would assume.

A few days ago I walked into the largest bookstore in the world, so I was told. Having looked over some of the books that might interest me one caught my attention, “thieves in the temple” So a few thoughts began to form in my spirit. I did not buy the book, I did not read it, so I want to let my readers know should there be any that is in that book that I mention here I did not obtain it from that book. I’m just going to take time to expose some of these thieves and let them be caught.

Jeremiah 23:30

Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord that steal my Words everyone from his neighbour.

Verse 31:

Behold I am against the prophets saith the Lord that use their tongues and say He saith

There is a trend today across our land when someone says I got a word for you and say thus saith the Lord. When it is not from the Lord. I am not advocating that there is no such thing as a word from the Lord but a lot that I have heard in this area is nothing but garbage. When you steal words from Gods’ Word and use them to glorify yourself then you are nothing but a thief and robbing people of the very blessing that God has for that very person – I know what I’m talking about.

Churches have been robbed of the blessing that many times been theirs through singing the old hymns of the Church and have put the hymn book out and brought in something that does not and can not and well not take it’s place.

Taking out the Blood, the Cross, Salvation and replaced it with something that sounds alight but it’s not!

The devil don’t like songs about the Blood, the Cross, Salvation but sure would like a counterfeit gospel song. Come on friend! Bring them back!

What can wash away my sin, nothing but the Blood of Jesus. To the old rugged Cross. Jesus the name high over all. Songs that when sung the Holy Spirit moved upon it and souls came to the alter and gave their life to Christ. I have listened to a lot of that, the new age has brought in and so far I have not yet recognized the Holy Spirit upon it, very much.

I have been in other parts of Canada and have discovered that the thieves have made a visitation also. In Newfoundland the lack of people in church is blamed for out migration but how would you reconcile the fact that in a community having a population of 112,000 people and on a Sunday night only 2 in the congregation. That don’t sound like people are out migrating, that sounds like the Holy Spirit has left and nothing to draw people in the church. The devil has stole the desires of the people and robbed them because leadership have so desired to go that way.

I just picked up a supposed to be a Christian magazine, in it I read that God invented Rock and Roll. It made reference to and when God rolled away the stone from the tomb of Jesus, what an insult! Listen friend, God did not roll away the stone to let Jesus out, He rolled away the stone to let the disciples in. Rock music has no place in the worship of a mighty God, creator of Heaven and Earth.

As I said earlier, I have listened to a lot of the new age singing, there is very little inspiration, it’s a way that the devil has to counterfeit and he’s doing a good job, just the same as he’s bringing in a counterfeit gospel, it looks so nice but look into it and you will discover it’s not what God wants.

Man, leadership has robbed us of the true worship of our Creator in the way that brings glory to God by accepting and adopting such ideas. Someone may say, you are a very close minded person, not at all! But I’ll tell you what, when someone can tell me that this reflects on Mark chapter 16. and you see the power of God working in the midst of it, I’ll only be to glad to accept it.

When they make room for the super bowl in the church something important is robbed from what the church intended to be. So I would say thieves get out because just as sure as you operate in some of these circles, Jesus will sooner or later upset your programs.

If you pay close attention to these songs there is very little mention of the Blood and the Cross. Some churches mention very little about the Blood of Jesus or the Cross because the devil don’t want it mentioned.

Bring back old time singing, preaching, praying and out churches will fill up and everything that goes with it!

This article was not submitted in the archives of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland

I have made many submissions by way of this website, but I have never referred to very much my personal experiences.

I did refer to my personal testimony that I was in the process of publishing within the next couple of months and this is a excerpt from my testimony.

During the year 1957 – 1962 I worked with the department of Fisheries, working out of Deer Lake on the west coast of Newfoundland. It was in the fall of 1958 that we decide to stay in Deer Lake for the winter. In December I felt an urge to go back home to Cottrell’s Cove not having at that time a good knowledge of the Word or what was in store.

The old homestead was vacant at the time as my mother was in Badger, that is of course, central Newfoundland. Having arrived home I discovered that a Pastor that was originally from home had been preaching in Boswarlos, that’s on the Port aux Port Peninsula. However we came together for times of fellowship. I opened up the house for meetings which began to grow. One night we, that is two of us, sat around the table wondering what to do. We drew a promise, if two of you shall agree on any thing asking in faith it shall be done. We took God at His Word and with $10.00 we started to build a place to worship in, 24×36 only small but could accommodate approximately 80 to 100 people.

On the first of February we went in the country to cut the foundation or what we could get for the church. We cut the logs, got them sawed and that was the last load of timber that came out of the woods that winter. We had a site for the church, then of course we had to make other plans to get the rest of the lumber. So we decided to go up in what we called the bay to get the rest, only two of us remember.

We loaded on a tobaggon, gas, chain saw, food for a week and got on the way to finish the project. I’m not filling in every detail just want to let you know how God did, can and will work.

Then of course, there was the process of getting them out and towing them to a sawmill. All this fell in place. We begun to erect the building, remember we only had $10.00 when we started. The head office of the PANOL had no knowledge of what we were doing at the time. We had no loans, no raising money, just trusted the Lord.

I’ll relate to one, there were lost but this one was very outstanding.

Now, Point Leamington is 14 miles away by boat, remember no roads, no telephone at that time. A lady was out in here garden picking strawberries, the Lord spoke to her and told her to give Pastor Hustins (deceased) $100 for the church not having any foreknowledge whatsoever.

A week later there was a baptismal service in Point Leamington and he went up, only to receive the hundred at the service where he met the lady.

That’s only small for God!

However, we started with $10.00 in February 1959 and the church was opened in August of that same year for services. In November of that year it was officially opened with not a cent owed on it.

No help from out head office, oh there is so much more!

More then once we cleaned the sawdust away and prayed that God would send a revival and he did! Oh yes I forgot the little community only had at that time approximately 270 people and three other churches. People came in got saved and in 1965 that’s when we had a mighty visitation from God. In two weeks approximately 18 people got the Baptism in the Holy Ghost, somewhere around August and October there was two water services. God blessed us in a wonderful way. Five people went out in full time ministry.

What a harvest when they re all gathered in, Give Him Glory!

I have a little more in detail in my personal testimony which will go in print within the next 2 months if you would like a copy of my personal testimony just call me at 709-468-1587 or email this website and your name will be put on file.

It has been some time since I posted the last article. For awhile I have been thinking long the line of eternal security.

We have so many doctrines and teachings out there that if you didn’t know the truth you would surely be confused but the Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth and does not cause confusion.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 1:10, he exhorted that we all speak the same thing, that is, we have to stay within the confines of the Word because the Holy Spirit will not go outside the Word.

I recently read an article and in that the words was, “I’m sure the Holy Spirit don’t mind being embarrassed” To me and on the basis of the Word it is just plain ignorance for someone to publish such a statement. It grieves the Holy Spirit when such statements are made. Now then, lets get to the eternal security issue.

On the basis, “once saved always saved”. If that is so then answer these questions. How come Judas was a follower of Jesus, had been called by the Master and yet by transgression fell, died that he might go to his own place.

Explain how Paul said about one named Demas: 2nd Timothy 4:10, “having loved this present world”, he fell from grace.

Not only only is it not scripture for one to believe such teaching but it’s not even logic.

I’ll use one thing and there are so many. If that is so I can go out and have an affair with as many women as I desire and it’s ok because I once asked the Lord to forgive me. Paul warned us in Galatians Chapter 2 verse 21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God” and also in Galatians 2:18 “For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor”. If what some are saying that you are once saved always saved then a prostitute can repent of the sins and just go on back to what she was doing.

Where is Holy living if I can have another woman any time I so desire?

Romans 6:1 “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?” We are to cast off the works of darkness. A fountain cannot give forth sweet and bitter waters. Cursing and blessing can’t proceed out of the same mouth. One cannot serve two masters, he will hate the one and cleave to the other.

If you can be saved and become a new creature then go and do and say what you always said, what is the point of repenting in the first place?

In Galatians chapter 5 verse 19-21. Now the works of the flesh are manifest which are these , Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness., Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies. Envyings, murders, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kindom of God.

When I began to write this I wasn’t sure where I was going but I have discovered so much scripture to contradict such a teaching that it would almost take up and waste time. Why read, 2nd Timothy chapter 3 verse 1-5 and James chapter 1 verse 1-27.

Come on now folks! Whoever may read this take Gods Word as it is believe it, practice it’s teachings. Why try to twist it to your own satisfaction after all it is the inspired Word of God! It makes me sick when I see and hear people trying to steer away from what the Bible says. What I referred to in the beginning, the Holy Spirit will not give anybody license to go outside the Word and a license to sin.

Folks, if you believe that you can ask the Lord to save you from your sins and I’m sure he will. While it is true the Holy Spirit seals us but I can assure you that I can break that seal by turning aside and allowing myself to become corrupted with the filth and contamination of this world.

I’m taking the scripture from Matthew chapter 10 verse 16. “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves”. Someone may say, “what are you trying to say?”. This verse of scripture came forth by the Holy Ghost on February 1966 when I and my fellow companion in Christ received a direct call from God to go into Ministry. Although, we knew before somewhat, but it was confirmed in public that it was to be so.

Now I was going to go this way some time ago but I was stopped at that time from doing so. You may say, is it right to expose the wolves. Well lets put it this way, a sheep knows a wolf, make no mistake they do. You can dress up and look like a sheep but you have the smell of a wolf and don’t act like a sheep. Having said that, Jesus said, as sheep in the midst of wolves. Then if you go to Acts of the Apostles chapter 20 verse 29, Paul said, I know this that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Please take note, remember the church was only in it;s infancy and there they were, I would say that some two thousand years later they are running in packs, the wolves I mean.
The last entry I made was “blurred vision” and I believe that this can surly tie in with it. I believe the church, I’m not talking about a religious group, I’m talking about “The Church” should and is able to see the wolf, although sometimes they look so much like the sheep. It’s hard to detect them yet by the aid of the Holy Spirit we can do so. Jesus said in St. John’s Gospel chapter 10 verse 5, “And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.” This has been proven.

Sheep among wolves, or wolves among sheep, the same in some sense but not really. Some would dare to say that what Jesus was talking about was the born again believer out in a world of sin and among the ungodly but Paul put it in another was as wolves coming in among the sheep. So therefore the both of it is right. Without getting to dogmatic on the subject, whatever you say the wolves are among the sheep and what makes it so deceptive is that they are so dressed up that some of them look like sheep and I would like to clarify the statement, I just made. When I said “dressed up” I’m not referring to a particular church or group I’m speaking in general terms.

So many times I hear the statement made, “Well you know they believe there is a God”. The Bible says that the devil believes there is a God and he fears and trembles. Believing there is a God does not justify anyone or anything. If that was so, the devil would have been saved for long ago. There is so much done today in the name of Religion and in the name of God and God has got nothing to do with it. This stirs up my righteous indignation and makes me spiritually sick.
Listen friend, soon I believe the Antichrist will appear on the scene and the Bible says that he is going to come with all deceivableness and lying wonders and would deceive the very elect if it were possible, but that is not possible. He will look and appear so nice just like a sheep but be aware when he shows his teeth.

There is a Religious movement which is made up of different religious groups, this is nothing but a body of people who are setting the stage for the incoming of the false prophet and the Antichrist. I said earlier I wouldn’t doubt but they are running in packs. Pull on their coats, you’ll soon find out if it’s wool or hair. A true sheep don’t make much noise even when it is brought to the slaughter house or is ill treated.
You can be sure, the wolves are around and watching for any lame or feeble ones to devour. You may not be aware but I speak as I know and not as I think. I know from experience what it’s like to be attacked by wolves, spiritually I mean. I have been in among them, I’ve seen them devour innocent sheep. Someone may say, you are judgmental, no I’m not. I have no right to judge anyone. The Bible states, if it is for real and I thank God that my spiritual eyesight is very good and I know a wolf when I see one.

When churches close their door, when church pews are empty, and very few people turn up for fellowship, it tells me that the wolves got in and scattered the flock and they are not sure whether or not they should go there again because they, the sheep I mean, don’t like to be prayed upon. Jesus never said all that ever came before me are sheep, no He said all that ever came before me are thieves and robbers. Somebody to try and steal or to rob something that is precious to them. The problem today in a lot of cases, people don’t want to hear the truth. Read 2nd Timothy 4:3.

When you take your stand for what the Word of God says and not a man pleaser, you’ll find out where the wolves are. You know wolves howl mostly in the night when they let the surrounding friendly wolves that there is pray around and they want them to share or if there is danger they also warn their friends that danger is near. I’m talking about those friendly spiritual wolves.

Please take note, Paul said in 2nd Timothy 3:1-5 that the day would come when many would depart from the faith and some use that today to reconcile the empty pews in churches. There can be some truth in that as well but please don’t use that as the only cause. Paul also said what they would do, they would take unto themselves teachers having itchy ears and listen to fables and doctrines of devils. Very distinguishable , they will take unto themselves and group together and I guess you could say from packs as is known as cults. But in reference to my topic, Paul said these kind would scatter the flock, scatter them from the place where they should be fed. You talk about division in the church, there should not be division, they should be provision where the sheep can find pasture and feed on the Word and from the Word and not from some fairy tales or fables.

I know what Jesus said in John chapter 10. He said, He was the good Sheppard and on and on but yet He has given what we turn a under Sheppard to care for and feed the flock. If a Sheppard or Pastor has got to turn to Hollywood or adopt something that came from it to fill space, I don’t wonder why there’s a lot of empty pews whens it’s over.

If ever there was a day in the history of the Church when we need something from the throne room of God, it is today and the only way to get this is by Pastors, preachers, to get in their closets and receive. You won’t get something from the throne room if you maintain your stay in the computer room. I’m not saying that everything is wrong what’s on computer. If that was so I just as well stop writing. I”m just using this means to get out what I have on my heart and let the world know a few simple facts.

What I”m saying is, this don’t go to your computer and see what Brother Langdon has for me that I can use Sunday morning. What I say is very well the truth but may never be what your congregation needs on Sunday morning or what some sinner needs on a Sunday night service. Preacher, if you haven’t got some message from Heaven or there’s not some content within that message that tells me that you spent some time during the week seeking God, then I have a right to question what kind of “clothing” you wear or what is inside of that “clothing”.

I know that sometimes I sound negative, so did Jeremiah. They even put him in a pit for awhile but he survived it because he did what God wanted him to do and said what God wanted him to say. I know there are people out there who are speaking the truth, I would be naive to think otherwise. You know to sum it all up, when you really think of what Jesus said and what Paul said, there isn’t much trouble at all in the natural to distinguish a sheep from a wolf. A wolf has a long bushy tail, a long pointed face and ears that sort or stick up. So what Jesus and Paul was really saying, that these wolves would take unto themselves somewhat the characteristics of the sheep so that way they could get in among them and scatter them, a tactic that the enemy would use to destroy if possible. Oh my!, them grievous wolves.

In closing I would like to refer to Philippians chapter 3 verse 18. Paul said, “For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the Cross of Christ.”

I want you to go with me for a moment to St Mark’s Gospel 8:24, where a blind man came to Jesus, that he might receive his sight. The Bible says that Jesus spat on his eyes and put His hands on him and asked him what he saw. The man replied, I see men as trees walking, he had what we would say, blurred vision, no able to see clearly until Jesus touched him again. So often, so many people have said to me, I really don’t see it for some reason, they haven’t got a clear understanding of what is being said or done.

Let’s take a little glance at 2nd Kings chapter 6. We note there that the King of Syria was at war against Israel but they could not trap them because by word of knowledge, God let Elisha know where the Syrian were encamped, thus Israel escaped from them. It’s a bit of a long story but the King of Syria found out who was letting the King know their whereabouts, so the King of Syria sent out his army to look for Elisha and this is where we come to when Elisha had risen up to go the whole city was surrounded by the Syrian army, but Elisha saw beyond the Syrian army but his servants vision was a bit blurred. He could only see the enemy until Elisha prayed and said, Lord, open the young man’s eyes. When the young man looked again he saw: Verse 17 chapter 6, (last part) and behold the mountain was full of houses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. The Bible says the angels of the Lord encamp round about them. Don’t let us allow our vision to be blurred by the things that we see around us, Hebrews chapter 12 verse 1-2. Wherefore seeing we are compassed about with so great a could of witnesses, referring to chapter 11, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily beset us, let us run the race that is set before us.

Looking where verse 2 unto Jesus when we look to Him the things of earth will go dim and we will see clearly. I’ve said so many times before, there is so much to be said, when it comes to the word of God. Just recently a verse of scripture came to me. Proverbs chapter 4 verse 25-27. This come to me and at that time I did not have in mind to write on this: verse 25, let thine eyes look right on and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. 26) Ponder the path of thy feet and let all thy ways be established 27)Turn not to the right or to the left, remove thy feet from evil. Oh there is so much right now, there is so much coming I really don’t know when I’ll stop.
Psalms 119–105 David said, thy word is a lamp unto my feet and light unto my path.
Psalms 119–130 The entrance of thy word giveth light, it giveth understanding to the simple.

Read Ephesians 1-18. Paul said that the eyes of your understanding be enlightened that you may know what is the hope of His calling and what the riches of His glory of His inheritance of the saints.

Friend, it’s no need to stumble, we are children of the day and not of the night, we should see very clearly where we are going. Listen friend, if you can’t see clearly, I mean in the spiritual sense, just read Revelation chapter 3 verse 18. I’d like to elaborate awhile on that one. Look unto the word of God and allow God through the Holy Spirit to enlighten you to see what you should see and I’m sure it won’t be cloudy. Walk in the light as He is in the light.

Listen friend, let not your spiritual vision be blurred by what you see in the natural, look to the one who sees all things, knows all things and giveth and giveth and giveth again. The bible says that if the blind lead the blind they will both fall in the ditch together. The ditches are just about full, be careful where you walk and who’s leading.

It’s been a little while so I better keep it up. I would like to touch a little on our right, our citizenship, or our true relationship with our Creator.

Paul in writing to the Ephesians put it this way in Ephesians 2:19-22.
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the Saints and of the household of God. Hebrews 3:6; But Christ as a Son over his own house, whose house we are. If we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. I just wanted to lay a little foundation for the basis of our citizenship, who we are, what are our rights as born again believers.

Jesus said in Saint John’s gospel that we, referring to His church are not of this world, we are in the world but not of the world. When I received Christ, when I allowed Him to come in, I believe I became a part of another family. The Bible says if any man be in Christ he is a new creature, behold all things are passed away and all things become new. We have a hope that is sure and steadfast: that exceeds anything related to this earth. By natural birth I became a citizen of Canada, but glory to God, by the new birth I became a citizen of Heaven. Make no mistake, that’s what the Bible says.

Just for a short time, let’s go back to the Old Testament. Just take a look at the children of Israel. The twelve tribes were classified as one great family or nation and they had the same right under the law of Moses, what He promised for one He promised for all, none excluded. While they played different roles, musicians, leaders, people fitted for battle, while others stayed by the side. The one main thing within that nation was unity. I could go on here but let’s step back. We are under a better Covenant, better promises. Paul said, take heed that you don’t bite and devour one another lest ye be consumed, one of another. I don’t believe there is enough time to be bickering and banging, there’s work to be done.

Denominational systems are doing nothing less than hindering the word of God to go forth in some areas. Someone may say, it’s a greater tool to get the gospel out. I’ll just say it’s a greater tool for the enemy then for the spread of the gospel. I believe that God through the years rose up men to carry on with the gospel work, but it became too personalized, organized and socialized and not harmonized by the Holy Spirit.

One time on our cars we had generators to put back power into the battery and that did not quite do the work because sometimes it put out too much or too less. So they came up with an alternator which had a regulator built in it. When in turn, the regulator controlled the power systems so that the battery would not over charge. Let me tell you something friend. The church should never have become regulated. You might say again, you have sidestepped a little. Now let me say I’m not so naive has to think that you can’t be a member of some denomination or fellowship and not be a true born again believer, but let’s be careful that we don’t put limitations on church membership and eliminate the true citizenship as believers in Christ.

Paul said in writing to the Colossians, Salute the church that is in thy house. He was not referring to a demon he was referring to none other than born again believers whose citizenship was in Heaven.

In closing this; of course we can’t close any subject as such but to come to an end thus far. If we have been washed, sanctified, made holy through His Blood, and made partakers of Heavenly things, sat at the same table. Let’s be careful how we identify ourselves as to be in line with scripture.

Not as some said in 1st Corinthians chapter 3 which will very well back up what I said earlier in relation to demon. Paul said in verse 3 chapter 3 that they were carnal, causing strife and divisions. Why? Read verse 4 to 7.

If you go to the book of Exodus, you will find that is where God declared to the children of Israel, that in order to be delivered from bondage, set free from the slavery in which they were in, in Egypt, Blood had to be applied. Exodus 12:13

Lets just take a glimpse back to Genesis. We will find in chapter four that Abels sacrifice was brought about by blood and according to scripture God was pleased with it, but was not pleased with Cains sacrifice which was the fruit of the ground. That tells us something, anything but the Blood. What can wash away my sin, nothing but the blood of Jesus. I will go a bit more in detail on how important the shedding of blood really is.

Lets go forward to Exodus chapter twelve. It was very important that there be a lamb for a household which tells us something. That I can not depend on someone else for my salvation or what someone else experiences. I have to accept the Lamb or the Blood offering for myself. Please take note, that it was in the evening that this took place and it was symbolic of the sacrifice that Jesus would pay in dying on the cross. If you note in Hebrews chapter ten verse eleven, that there was a continuous offering up of sacrifices for the people but the Bible says it could never take away sin. So you see that the priest had very little rest as there was a continual work to be done. In verse twelve we read that when Christ offered himself, the one and only sacrifice, he sat down, this signifying that the sacrifice was complete. It was for the whole world but there must be an acceptance of that sacrifice that was made on Calvary. That the Blood of Jesus Christ, Gods son, cleanse us from all sin, anything that is unlike God must be covered by the Blood.

You can recognize God, you can truthfully say I or we believe there is a God, the Bible says that the Devils believe and he fears and trembles. One must go a little further then believing there is a God. One must believe there is and there is a covering for sin, and nothing else only the Blood of Jesus.

There was no other atonement made, the only true Blood that was shed was what was shed that day some two thousand years ago to take away sin forever. When God gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. When God sees that Blood applied to the hearts by faith in the Lamb that was slain.

I will end with this little thought for you. Can you imagine the look on the high priest face that evening when he went in to offer up the evening sacrifice. When God was doing something else outside. The bible says when Jesus said, it is finished the Vail that was separating the Holy of Holies, it was rent in twain from the top to the bottom thereby giving access to the presence of God. Do not ever conceive the idea that you can enter into the presence of God without the Blood applied. He said when I see the Blood I will pass over you. You can say, well I say my prayers, I read my Bible. That is good in itself to read your Bible but you need to accept Jesus Christ into your heart by faith.

By grace are ye saved that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God onto salvation. Through faith believing on the finish work on Calvary forsaking the things of the world and turning to God.

I’m not a person to put tithes to sermonettes as such but I guess it’s ok. My thoughts for the past few days have somewhat been focused on the Light.

Jesus said, I am the light in Johns Gospel. John referred to Him, that is Jesus, verse 9 of chapter 1 that He was the true light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world, because He was the creator of the light. When God spoke, quoting from Genesis chapter 1 verse 3, God said, let there be light and there was light. Jesus was that word that was spoken. John tells us in the beginning was the word, the word was God and the same was in the beginning with God. The Bible says and the word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.

St. Lukes Gospel, chapter 23 verse 44 tells us that just before Jesus gave up the Ghost, there was darkness for the space of three hours. Make no wonder, because the giver of light, the giver of life, was drawing His last breath. He that is Jesus was to die. I’m not sure, there is no scripture to say, but I’m convinced that the three days represented the three days that the true light that lighteth every man would be out for awhile. Make no wonder the earth quaked and shook, the sun refused to shine, look what was happening.

I can’t imagine what was transacting in the temple. I wish I could have seen the look on the high priests’ face when he heard the rent and looked and saw the Vail of the temple torn from the top to the bottom. Oh praise God he opened up the way into the presence of God that we might obtain mercy and find grace in the time of need. I can’t imagine, I won’t even try to. It was at the time of the evening sacrifice that the priest went in to offer up the sacrifice for the people. Little did he know or realized that the Lamb of God was being sacrificed on an old rugged cross outside of the temple. No more ritual, no more bondage, all bondage to be broken, men and women set free by the sacrifice on the cross.

Isaiah referred to it in chapter 60 verse 2. The darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people. Yet there well be another time of darkness, Isaiah 13:10, For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. This will happen because man refused to accept the true light, the light of the glorious gopsel of Jesus Christ, the whole earth shall mourn. (Matthew 24:30)

Read Revelation chapter 6 verse 12-14 which gives an account of the events that would follow the opening of the 6th seal, as the judgements of God are being poured out because they would not accept the true light.

When the light went out that day when Jesus died on the cross meant that a greater light would shine forth. Isaiah said, a light to lighten the gentiles and they that sat in darkness meaning the gentile nations saw a great light. The Bible says that man refuse to come to that light lest their deeds be known. Man loves darkness rather then light because their deeds are evil. Although, the light went out that day for the space of three hours, yet that Light has been shining every since.

You may take things lightly, someone may read this but listen. Give ear, those that do not accept Christ as the true light will be cast in an outer darkness where the light will never penetrate.

Because of the fact I passed the outer court, I have been in the presence of the Lord. I will go in Isaiah 53 a little more because I felt I did not do justice to it in the last part. In verse 2, Isaiah said he shall grow up as a tender plant and as a root out of dry ground.

A tender plant is a plant that you can not rough handle, you have to be very careful how you treat it. You can not uproot it or disturb it. If you look at the word tender, quick to feel compassion or affection, etc. There is no mistake that is the truth and nothing but the truth. Jesus was exactly what Isaiah the prophet said he was. The prophet goes on to say in verse 3, He is despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows and appointed with grief.

No doubt he saw the grief, the sorrow, the disappointment that came mans way and we have some accounts in Holy writing. At the grave of Lazarus he wept. Luke 7:14 tells us that one day he was witness to the funeral of a young man, the only son of a widow woman, he was touched with compassion, reached out stopped the funeral and raised the widows son and gave him back to his mother. Oh, hallelujah oh what a saviour! He was despised, they spat upon Him, they smote Him. He was only recognized as the carpenter, Marys son or the son of Joseph. They did not believe He was the saviour, the redeemer yet Isaiah plainly describes Him. I do not wonder why he said who hath believed our report.

I quote Isaiah again, Isaiah 53:5: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Now the greater part of people who believe in the death and suffering of Jesus, can believe the first part of that scripture but has a problem with the last part. Now I could elaborate on all that verse but I will go to the last part. The Bible says with His stripes we are healed. 1st Peter 2:4 says by His stripes we were healed, it is not a matter of if it is Gods will, because it is His will because He said in John, I would that you prosper and be in health even as your soul.

You may ask the question, here especially in Newfoundland, why are we not seeing miracles, healing, etc.? I can tell you why. But the fact is Jesus bore the stripes on His back before he went to Calvary because he bore the pain of the forty stripes that was laid upon Him. Oh yes friend, he bore our sickness, just as sure has he bore our sins.

Do you mean to tell me that Jesus the Son of God took 40 lashes on His back for nothing? Oh no friend, he bore it all for you and me. I will put it simple, if someone do not get saved or born again, whatever term you may use, does that make the sacrifice that He made on Calvary void? No a thousand times no, just think about it.
