This is still a work in progress and there will be edits made to it in the future, mostly with the Old Testament Books as it has not yet been split into chapters.

The New Testament Books have been split into chapters so you can just click on the chapter you wish to read. As for the Old Testament Books, when you click on the title for a book, it will give you a list of the full text for that book.

It’s been a little while so I better keep it up. I would like to touch a little on our right, our citizenship, or our true relationship with our Creator.

Paul in writing to the Ephesians put it this way in Ephesians 2:19-22.
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the Saints and of the household of God. Hebrews 3:6; But Christ as a Son over his own house, whose house we are. If we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. I just wanted to lay a little foundation for the basis of our citizenship, who we are, what are our rights as born again believers.

Jesus said in Saint John’s gospel that we, referring to His church are not of this world, we are in the world but not of the world. When I received Christ, when I allowed Him to come in, I believe I became a part of another family. The Bible says if any man be in Christ he is a new creature, behold all things are passed away and all things become new. We have a hope that is sure and steadfast: that exceeds anything related to this earth. By natural birth I became a citizen of Canada, but glory to God, by the new birth I became a citizen of Heaven. Make no mistake, that’s what the Bible says.

Just for a short time, let’s go back to the Old Testament. Just take a look at the children of Israel. The twelve tribes were classified as one great family or nation and they had the same right under the law of Moses, what He promised for one He promised for all, none excluded. While they played different roles, musicians, leaders, people fitted for battle, while others stayed by the side. The one main thing within that nation was unity. I could go on here but let’s step back. We are under a better Covenant, better promises. Paul said, take heed that you don’t bite and devour one another lest ye be consumed, one of another. I don’t believe there is enough time to be bickering and banging, there’s work to be done.

Denominational systems are doing nothing less than hindering the word of God to go forth in some areas. Someone may say, it’s a greater tool to get the gospel out. I’ll just say it’s a greater tool for the enemy then for the spread of the gospel. I believe that God through the years rose up men to carry on with the gospel work, but it became too personalized, organized and socialized and not harmonized by the Holy Spirit.

One time on our cars we had generators to put back power into the battery and that did not quite do the work because sometimes it put out too much or too less. So they came up with an alternator which had a regulator built in it. When in turn, the regulator controlled the power systems so that the battery would not over charge. Let me tell you something friend. The church should never have become regulated. You might say again, you have sidestepped a little. Now let me say I’m not so naive has to think that you can’t be a member of some denomination or fellowship and not be a true born again believer, but let’s be careful that we don’t put limitations on church membership and eliminate the true citizenship as believers in Christ.

Paul said in writing to the Colossians, Salute the church that is in thy house. He was not referring to a demon he was referring to none other than born again believers whose citizenship was in Heaven.

In closing this; of course we can’t close any subject as such but to come to an end thus far. If we have been washed, sanctified, made holy through His Blood, and made partakers of Heavenly things, sat at the same table. Let’s be careful how we identify ourselves as to be in line with scripture.

Not as some said in 1st Corinthians chapter 3 which will very well back up what I said earlier in relation to demon. Paul said in verse 3 chapter 3 that they were carnal, causing strife and divisions. Why? Read verse 4 to 7.

Acts 16:30-31 “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

That was a very important question asked by the Roman jailer that day and still is the most important question that anyone can ask, “What must I do to be saved?”

The answer that Paul gave was very clear, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house”. That’s how simple it really is!

You must realize that you are separated from God.

Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear you.”

God has provided a way, the only way to God, Jesus Christ.

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

1st Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”

1st Peter 3:18 “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:”

Christ died for our sins, and was raised from the dead so that we might be justified by faith in Him. (Romans 4:24-25)

God’s Word is clear! Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him and he with me”

Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Many try to earn or teach other ways to earn their Salvation other than accepting Jesus and what he did on the Cross at Calvary. Many may also think that they can be saved by doing good deeds, just going to church or by being baptized in water but the Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” “Not of works, lest any man should boast”

No matter where you are or what you have done in the past, when you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart the Lord Jesus Christ you are saved.

A simple prayer that you can pray:

Dear Lord, I come to you today as a sinner. I believe you died for me on the Cross at Calvary and that you were raised from the dead and ascended into Heaven. I believe you are coming back one day. Forgive my sins, cleanse me with your precious blood and come into my heart. I accept You as my Saviour, my Lord, and my God. I am Yours, and I will serve You and follow You the rest of my life. Your word says that, whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. I am calling now Lord and I believe that I am now saved.

That’s it! Simply by asking God to forgive your sins, accepting Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour of your life, believing on what he did at the Cross, and continuing to follow Him as long as you live, you are saved.

1. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
was blind, but now I see.

2. ‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
and grace my fears relieved;
how precious did that grace appear
the hour I first beIieved.

3. Through many dan gers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
and grace will lead me home.

4. The Lord has promised good to me:
His word my hope secures;
God will my shield and portion be,
as long as life endures.

5. What thanks I owe you, and what love
a boundless, endless store
shall echo through the realms above
when time shall be no more.

6. When we’ve been there a thousand years,
bright shining as the sun,
we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise than
when we’d first begun.

If you go to the book of Exodus, you will find that is where God declared to the children of Israel, that in order to be delivered from bondage, set free from the slavery in which they were in, in Egypt, Blood had to be applied. Exodus 12:13

Lets just take a glimpse back to Genesis. We will find in chapter four that Abels sacrifice was brought about by blood and according to scripture God was pleased with it, but was not pleased with Cains sacrifice which was the fruit of the ground. That tells us something, anything but the Blood. What can wash away my sin, nothing but the blood of Jesus. I will go a bit more in detail on how important the shedding of blood really is.

Lets go forward to Exodus chapter twelve. It was very important that there be a lamb for a household which tells us something. That I can not depend on someone else for my salvation or what someone else experiences. I have to accept the Lamb or the Blood offering for myself. Please take note, that it was in the evening that this took place and it was symbolic of the sacrifice that Jesus would pay in dying on the cross. If you note in Hebrews chapter ten verse eleven, that there was a continuous offering up of sacrifices for the people but the Bible says it could never take away sin. So you see that the priest had very little rest as there was a continual work to be done. In verse twelve we read that when Christ offered himself, the one and only sacrifice, he sat down, this signifying that the sacrifice was complete. It was for the whole world but there must be an acceptance of that sacrifice that was made on Calvary. That the Blood of Jesus Christ, Gods son, cleanse us from all sin, anything that is unlike God must be covered by the Blood.

You can recognize God, you can truthfully say I or we believe there is a God, the Bible says that the Devils believe and he fears and trembles. One must go a little further then believing there is a God. One must believe there is and there is a covering for sin, and nothing else only the Blood of Jesus.

There was no other atonement made, the only true Blood that was shed was what was shed that day some two thousand years ago to take away sin forever. When God gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. When God sees that Blood applied to the hearts by faith in the Lamb that was slain.

I will end with this little thought for you. Can you imagine the look on the high priest face that evening when he went in to offer up the evening sacrifice. When God was doing something else outside. The bible says when Jesus said, it is finished the Vail that was separating the Holy of Holies, it was rent in twain from the top to the bottom thereby giving access to the presence of God. Do not ever conceive the idea that you can enter into the presence of God without the Blood applied. He said when I see the Blood I will pass over you. You can say, well I say my prayers, I read my Bible. That is good in itself to read your Bible but you need to accept Jesus Christ into your heart by faith.

By grace are ye saved that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God onto salvation. Through faith believing on the finish work on Calvary forsaking the things of the world and turning to God.

I’m not a person to put tithes to sermonettes as such but I guess it’s ok. My thoughts for the past few days have somewhat been focused on the Light.

Jesus said, I am the light in Johns Gospel. John referred to Him, that is Jesus, verse 9 of chapter 1 that He was the true light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world, because He was the creator of the light. When God spoke, quoting from Genesis chapter 1 verse 3, God said, let there be light and there was light. Jesus was that word that was spoken. John tells us in the beginning was the word, the word was God and the same was in the beginning with God. The Bible says and the word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.

St. Lukes Gospel, chapter 23 verse 44 tells us that just before Jesus gave up the Ghost, there was darkness for the space of three hours. Make no wonder, because the giver of light, the giver of life, was drawing His last breath. He that is Jesus was to die. I’m not sure, there is no scripture to say, but I’m convinced that the three days represented the three days that the true light that lighteth every man would be out for awhile. Make no wonder the earth quaked and shook, the sun refused to shine, look what was happening.

I can’t imagine what was transacting in the temple. I wish I could have seen the look on the high priests’ face when he heard the rent and looked and saw the Vail of the temple torn from the top to the bottom. Oh praise God he opened up the way into the presence of God that we might obtain mercy and find grace in the time of need. I can’t imagine, I won’t even try to. It was at the time of the evening sacrifice that the priest went in to offer up the sacrifice for the people. Little did he know or realized that the Lamb of God was being sacrificed on an old rugged cross outside of the temple. No more ritual, no more bondage, all bondage to be broken, men and women set free by the sacrifice on the cross.

Isaiah referred to it in chapter 60 verse 2. The darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people. Yet there well be another time of darkness, Isaiah 13:10, For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. This will happen because man refused to accept the true light, the light of the glorious gopsel of Jesus Christ, the whole earth shall mourn. (Matthew 24:30)

Read Revelation chapter 6 verse 12-14 which gives an account of the events that would follow the opening of the 6th seal, as the judgements of God are being poured out because they would not accept the true light.

When the light went out that day when Jesus died on the cross meant that a greater light would shine forth. Isaiah said, a light to lighten the gentiles and they that sat in darkness meaning the gentile nations saw a great light. The Bible says that man refuse to come to that light lest their deeds be known. Man loves darkness rather then light because their deeds are evil. Although, the light went out that day for the space of three hours, yet that Light has been shining every since.

You may take things lightly, someone may read this but listen. Give ear, those that do not accept Christ as the true light will be cast in an outer darkness where the light will never penetrate.

Because of the fact I passed the outer court, I have been in the presence of the Lord. I will go in Isaiah 53 a little more because I felt I did not do justice to it in the last part. In verse 2, Isaiah said he shall grow up as a tender plant and as a root out of dry ground.

A tender plant is a plant that you can not rough handle, you have to be very careful how you treat it. You can not uproot it or disturb it. If you look at the word tender, quick to feel compassion or affection, etc. There is no mistake that is the truth and nothing but the truth. Jesus was exactly what Isaiah the prophet said he was. The prophet goes on to say in verse 3, He is despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows and appointed with grief.

No doubt he saw the grief, the sorrow, the disappointment that came mans way and we have some accounts in Holy writing. At the grave of Lazarus he wept. Luke 7:14 tells us that one day he was witness to the funeral of a young man, the only son of a widow woman, he was touched with compassion, reached out stopped the funeral and raised the widows son and gave him back to his mother. Oh, hallelujah oh what a saviour! He was despised, they spat upon Him, they smote Him. He was only recognized as the carpenter, Marys son or the son of Joseph. They did not believe He was the saviour, the redeemer yet Isaiah plainly describes Him. I do not wonder why he said who hath believed our report.

I quote Isaiah again, Isaiah 53:5: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Now the greater part of people who believe in the death and suffering of Jesus, can believe the first part of that scripture but has a problem with the last part. Now I could elaborate on all that verse but I will go to the last part. The Bible says with His stripes we are healed. 1st Peter 2:4 says by His stripes we were healed, it is not a matter of if it is Gods will, because it is His will because He said in John, I would that you prosper and be in health even as your soul.

You may ask the question, here especially in Newfoundland, why are we not seeing miracles, healing, etc.? I can tell you why. But the fact is Jesus bore the stripes on His back before he went to Calvary because he bore the pain of the forty stripes that was laid upon Him. Oh yes friend, he bore our sickness, just as sure has he bore our sins.

Do you mean to tell me that Jesus the Son of God took 40 lashes on His back for nothing? Oh no friend, he bore it all for you and me. I will put it simple, if someone do not get saved or born again, whatever term you may use, does that make the sacrifice that He made on Calvary void? No a thousand times no, just think about it.

Isaiah as he introduced the fifty-third chapter, he asked it with a question. If you look back into the fifty-second chapter you will discover that he had already stated in verse three that talking to the Jews, he said, you have sold yourselves for naught, but he said, you will be redeemed without money. They were not use to such language and he went on about how the good news of the Gospel in verse seven of chapter fifty-two and verse nine, that there would be a time of rejoicing. Just step ahead for a moment, to 1st Peter 1:18-19, that we are not redeemed with corruptible things such as silver or gold but with the precious blood of Jesus as a Lamb without spot or blemish. They were not use to such a plan but that was Gods plan from the beginning.

They were well adapted to the sacrificial method of shedding the blood of goats and sprinkling the ashes of a heifer. Lets go back to chapter fifty-two. Again, verse fourteen speaks of the marred more then any man. His vision was marred, that we might see. Now having said that in brief we will go to Isaiah chapter fifty-three.

He says in introduction to the fifty-third chapter. Who hath believed our report. What hath been said so far, who hath believed it. Well, he says, I will make it a little plainer and go to greater depths. Isaiah 11:10 says that a root shall spring forth out of Jesse, then in Isaiah 52:2 he speaks of Him as a root out of a dry ground. Jesus came when everything was pretty barren in the spiritual. There was approximately 400 years and no sound from heaven. They were waiting for the promise Messiah whom Isaiah spoke about.

When I start to write I find myself with a problem because when you begin to talk about Jesus there is no end. So I try to get to the point. I remember preaching on Isaiah 53 in 1996 I believe it was. Now don’t think I am copying because I never had it written off.

Isaiah had made reference to Him so many times at one point. Just read Isaiah 9:6. If you go to Acts 8:26-39 gives an account of a man who was reading from this chapter from a scroll not knowing exactly what or who he was reading about until Philip being led by the Holy Spirit joined him in his chariot and the Bible says he preached unto him Jesus. It is a problem to read the word without acknowledging that Jesus is represented, for Jesus said for in the volume of the Book it is written of me.

You might say, why don’t you stick to the point. Well, as you may know, I’m not a three point preacher because all things point to Him. I’ll go back to Isaiah 53 where he gave a very clear account of how Jesus would come and what He would suffer for mankind so that when he would come there would be no mistake of who He was. Make no mistake, Jesus who took my sins, sorrows, sickness and bare them in His body on a tree. God said that He hath hid these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them unto babes. Who hath believed this report ? Who have accepted this truth that Jesus came to save the sinner, to heal the sick etc…

Oh! I’m some glad I know who Jesus is. I don’t need some university to tell me. I’m some glad that this gospel did not originate in some university or some college. This gospel did not come out of Harvard or Oxford. It came from the throne room of God. If it came otherwise you would have more people believing it.

Friend, don’t think I a coming against universities. No, no, just that Gods word in its purity and power hath to be revealed by the Holy Spirit. I’ll close with this, with the words of the Hymn. I believed the true report. Alleluia to the Lamb! I’ve passed the outer court, oh Glory be to God. I’ve passed the inner vail where the glories never fail. I’m living in the presence of the King.

I will go into this in another part.
